The future of the New Zealand accident compensation scheme ( ACC) is important to the people of New Zealand – as workers, employers, sportspeople, business people, treatment providers, drivers, parents and citizens.
The ACC Futures Coalition has been established to promote the current model of ACC in view of recent criticism of the scheme and signals from the government to privatise various ACC accounts and open these to competition. Participating organisations in the coalition are listed on this page.
Our Aim:
To build cross-party support for retaining the status of ACC as a publicly-owned single provider committed to the ‘Woodhouse Principles’, with a view to maintaining and improving the provision of injury prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and ‘no fault’ compensation social insurance system for all New Zealanders.
MARCH AND RALLY FOR ACC 16 February 11.30am - 12.00 noon – meet at the Fran Wilde Walkway, Westpac Stadium to march to Parliament, or 12.30pm – meet at Parliament for the Rally March route: down steps from Fran Wilde walkway, along Featherston St, turn right into Brandon St, right again into the western lane of Lambton Quay and enter Parliament by the cenotaph entrance. Tell your networks, friends and family. Negotiate an extended lunch hour. Be there! Click here for a union sponsored ad promoting the march and rally |
